France 1500. Entre Moyen Âge et Renaissance

L'exposition explore un moment de rencontres artistiques et d'effervescence créatrice sans précédent en France, et pourtant encore souvent méconnu. La France des années 1483-1515 se distingue par le nombre et la diversité de ses milieux artistiques : le Val de Loire, où séjournent les souverains, le Bourbonnais des grands princes, où travaille le célèbre peintre Jean Hey, " le Maître de Moulins ", ou encore le Languedoc, la Normandie, la Champagne Une plongée au coeur de l'histoire de France, à la charnière entre Moyen Âge et Renaissance pour la première manifestation d'envergure consacrée à ce sujet.

The exhibition explores an often-neglected period that nonetheless saw an unprecedented degree of creative exuberance and artistic interaction in France. In the years between 1483 and 1515, France stood out in Europe for the number and diversity of its centers of artistic activity: the Loire Valley, where the kings built their country palaces, the Bourbonnais region of the grand princes, where the famous painter Jean Hey known as the "Maître de Moulins" pursued his work, as well as the Languedoc, Normandy and Champagne regions. A journey into the heart of French history, this is the first large-scale exhibition devoted to this period which takes you through the turning point between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
