Le cercle est une figure qui exerce une réelle fascination sur l'imagination humaine. Organisation spatiale du temps ou de l'espace sous forme de zodiaque, cadran solaire, ou rose des vents. Parfois symbole d'un tout fini, complet, parfait et autonome et pourtant cerné par sa propre limite. Sphère, cercle, boule, rond, en ligne en creux gravé dans la matière, en aplat de couleurs, en motif décoratif, en recherche pure, cette forme géométrique est fréquente dans l'art.

The circle is a shape that exerts a real fascination on the human imagination, sometimes representing the spatial organisation of time or space in the form of a zodiac, a sundial or a wind rose and at other times symbolising something that is finished, complete, perfect and autonomous and yet bound by its own limits. This geometric shape appears frequently in art as a sphere, a circle, a ball, a ring, in a line, hollowed out or engraved into the material, as in flat tints, as a decorative element or as pure research.
