An anthology of Jean de La Fontaine’s fables at the National Library of France allows us to discover the variety and originality of the book illustrations.

The verses and morals of these fables are enhanced by Benjamin Rabier’s humorous images or the delicate illustrations by Japanese artists. Jacques Lagniet’s merry, amusing proverbs and popular prints complement this selection.
