René Lalique
René Lalique

René-Jules Lalique’s native Champagne inspired his numerous drawings, which would become the models for the original creations by this master jeweller and glass maker, active at the beginning of the 20th century. Emile Gallé called him the "inventor of modern jewellery".
He was guided by the research carried out by Gallé, fourteen years his elder; René Lalique searched and, in around 1895 found what he was looking for, managing to create something no-one had ever seen before.
