Marlène Dietrich (1901-1992)
Marlène Dietrich (1901-1992)

Coming to the attention of the general public when she played the role of Lola-Lola in the "The Blue Angel" (directed by Joseph von Sternberg), Marlene Dietrich dazzled Hollywood and became an international star.
After this, she went on to star in several more films directed by von Sternberg, which were also very successful. Dietrich thus established herself as the main rival to Greta Garbo. The world's greatest film directors such as Raoul Walsh, Billy Wilder, Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles and Fritz Lang asked her to work for them.
After 1953, Marlene Dietrich returned to working almost exclusively as a cabaret artist, appearing in films only rarely. In 1961, she returned to her hometown of Berlin as part of her triumphant tour.
