Line Renaud

Born in 1928 in Nieppe in northern France into a modest background, Line Renaud came to a turning point in her life in September 1945 during an audition at the Folies Belleville. It was then that Lou Gasté, her idol, became her pygmalion, the love of her life. For her, he wrote a repertoire of famous songs such as Ma cabane au Canada, Etoile des neiges, and le chien dans la vitrine. Line Renaud is also an actress on television, sometimes in the cinema and theatre. Aside from her artistic life, Line Renaud is very active and committed to the fight against AIDS.

In 1994, the association "Ensemble contre le sida" became "Sidaction". Pierre Bergé is the president, while in her quality as vice-president Line Renaud spoke at the UN on2 2September 2017: “This is the fight of my life: I want a world without AIDS".
