Hector Guimard
The artist behind the Paris Metro, a key figure in Art Nouveau, Hector Guimard fused architecture and interior design. He developed a new art form based on three principles: the logic of organic structure, functional adaptation and an emotional aesthetic for each work. Through his plans, drawings, furniture and interior architectural features, we discover an architect who sought to master all aspects of architectural design: the Castel Béranger and the Castel Henriette are two major examples.
