Starting 25 March 2015, the Grand Palais will be presenting an extraordinary exhibition devoted to Diego Velazquez. The inimitable style, soft-focus painting technique and unexpected composition of this major 17th century Spanish artist certainly left an indelible mark on art history. He portrayed kings and royal families impartially but he was also a true genre painter and besides handled mythological scenes like no other before him. This exhibition is an opportunity to discover or rediscover the rich variety in this pivotal painter’s works.
