The Kennedy years
The Kennedy years

Fifty years ago, on 22 November 1963, the President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated whilst on an official visit to Dallas.
During his short period in office, he had to deal with several major international crises. These years were marked by the Cuban Missile Crisis, the building of the Berlin Wall and the USA's active entry into the Vietnam War.
In 1964, his commitment to oppose racial discrimination and his support of Martin Luther King finally resulted in the signature of the Civil Rights Act.
Due to his youth, his elegance and his numerous relations with personalities in the world of the arts, he left us a different, more modern image, of the presidency of the United States.
