Denise Colomb (1902-2004)
Denise Colomb, born in 1902, is known above all for her portraits of artists. However, her interest in human beings in their living environments was clear from the first photographs she took in the Asian colonies. It remained unfailing, despite the reports, from the wilds of Brittany to the constant bustle of Les Halles in Paris. This less exhibited side of her work remains a shining example of humanism and dignity.
