12 October 2008, 150th anniversary of the death of Hiroshige Utagawa.
With Hokusai and Utamaro, Hiroshige would become a real source of inspiration for the Western painters: Van Gogh, Monet, Gauguin, Cézanne...
On his death, he left behind over 5,000 prints including the Snow, moon and flowers series, the one hundred famous views of Edo and the fifty-three stations of the Tokaido.
