Musée d’Orsay – Graphic Arts Collection
When the Musée d’Orsay was created, drawings from the second half of the 19th century were not diverted from the collections of the Louvre Museum’s Department of Prints and Drawings. As with later acquisitions, they remained part of the Louvre, with the exception of pastels, architecture, and decorative arts. Today, the collection has more than 10,000 drawings.
