Lille, Palais des Beaux-Arts
The collections in Lille’s Palais des Beaux-Arts include a number of noteworthy paintings, a wonderful
collection of 19th century drawings and sculptures and of course the famed relief maps, offerings visitors a
comprehensive view of Europe’s artistic centres from the 12th to the 20th centuries. These works have brought
recognition to the Palais des Beaux-Arts. Its architecture, which was fully renovated in 1997 by architects Ibos
and Vitart, subtly combines the ancient and the contemporary.
