Nit-picking
Nit-picking

"To nit-pick, to be busy as a bee, as snug as a bug in a rug, to beetle away, to be a fly on the wall, at a snail's pace" all these little creatures like ladybirds, caterpillars, spiders, dragonflies, snails, butterflies, ants, etc. who sting, bite, crawl, fly and swarm often scare us, but not all of them are harmful.
Destructive insects, which we try in vain to eliminate. Edible insects, sought after not only by birds but also by Asian people, who sell them on the market, sautéed or grilled. Useful, beneficial insects such as bees, which provide us with honey, pollen and wax. Singing insects heard on warm summer evenings. The ephemeral magic of butterflies with their brightly coloured wings...
The film "Microcosmos (Le Peuple de l'herbe)" in which the principal characters, the insects, are filmed like real actors - makes us want to read Jean-Henri Fabre's "Souvenirs entomologiques (Entomological Memories)", a work that has been translated into fifteen languages, in order to discover, filled with wonder, a universe with unexpected dimensions, and one that is surprisingly complex and beautiful.
