Haute Couture

What an absolute pleasure to wear a dress that is one-of-a-kind and made to measure just for you!
The origins of Haute Couture can be traced back to the 19th century when for the first time Charles Frederick Worth presented his creations on living models. He was also the founder in 1868 of, the Chambre syndicale de la couture parisienne, an association of couture houses, which set specific criteria for acceptance into this select circle: the collection had to be designed by the fashion designer and made in his workrooms; and the fashion designer also had to agree to present at least 50 outfits at both of the two annual fashion shows. The fulfillment of all these criteria adds to the incredibly prestigious image of Haute Couture which has always attracted a very exclusive clientele.
