Paris painting

A great many easels have been set up - in the middle of the street or on an overlooking terrace - to try to capture a view of our capital's avenues or façades. From the 17th to the 20th century, artists from France and abroad, whether great masters or talented enthusiasts, observed, studied and contemplated Paris with a poetic, but nevertheless, keen, eye. The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Montmartre, the Opera, and the bustle of the boulevards, cafes and museums; all these places are delightful spots best loved by foreign visitors. While the streets of our capital welcome the tourists, let's remember those masterpieces to be admired in our museums.
