Viollet-le-Duc : A journey through the Pyrenees
It was in 1833 that Eugène Viollet-le-Duc and the musician Emile Millet embarked on a journey, lasting from 4 May to 15 September, and taking them from the castles of the Loire, to the Atlantic coast, and onwards to the Pyrenees and Languedoc. They toured the entire length of the Pyrenees mountains on foot. Eugène Viollet-le-Duc brought back more than 175 watercolours from this trip, and here you can see a selection of them. Bon voyage!
