The exhibition explores an often-neglected period that nonetheless saw an unprecedented degree of creative exuberance and artistic interaction in France. In the years between 1483 and 1515, France stood out in Europe for the number and diversity of its centers of artistic activity: the Loire Valley, where the kings built their country palaces, the Bourbonnais region of the grand princes, where the famous painter Jean Hey known as the "Maître de Moulins" pursued his work, as well as the Languedoc, Normandy and Champagne regions.
A journey into the heart of French history, this is the first large-scale exhibition devoted to this period which takes you through the turning point between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
