Hats off!!
Hats off!!

A real fashion accessory, the hat is both a practical object and a way of conveying one's social status: hats are a form of headgear that helps protect the wearer from the sun or bad weather; it is also a distinctive sign of affluence, comfort or poverty. And, although this applies mainly to men, removing one's hat is also a sign of respect or a way of greeting friends and family. There are a many amusing and varied expressions that have developed around the word "hat": "hat off to you", "at the drop of a hat", "I'll eat my hat" to name but a few.
