Aix-en-Provence, Granet Museum
Inaugurated in 1838, Aix-en-Provence's Granet Museum has received numerous donations, especially from the
painter François-Marius Granet (1775-1849), and the museum was named after him in 1949. The museum has
also received bequests from major collectors, such as Bourguignon de Fabregoules and even Philippe Meyer.
The museum’s collections thus include collections of archaeology, paintings from the late Middle Ages to the
20th century, graphic arts, decorative arts, and sculptures.
